I LOVE Sunshine! :) {Ode to 3rd Eyes}

I have always been a person who's favorite weather is sunshine (I grew up in Western Washington go figure). I'm am always happier when it's sunny outside. I read this article in my 10th grade Biology Book that said that there is a third "eye" in your brain that is a sensory gland that is stimulated by light, thus making you feel happier when it's sunnier outside. It is actually called the pineal gland. Your pineal gland is about the size of a pea, and sits in a tiny cave behind and above the pituitary gland. It is located directly behind your eyes, and is attached to your brain’s third ventricle.
According to this website I found online, "The pineal has many characteristics of your exterior eyes, including a lens. It contains a complete map of the visual field of the eyes. It is activated by light, and controls your body’s various natural biorhythms. The pineal works in direct harmony with your hypothalamus gland – the director of thirst, hunger, and the biological clock controlling your aging process. The pineal secretes melanin when you are relaxed and visualizing, and also responds to electromagnetic energy... According to many ancient traditions, this is when our third eye begins to exhibit special powers." So maybe my third eye can give me special super powers like the vampires on twilight. Let me see... I think I would like super strength, super speed, and super energy. Never having to sleep, now that would be a trick! :)

The past couple of days we have been enjoying the sunshine. It's been 70 Degrees Outside! We also enjoyed my longtime friend (one of my Bff's--since we were in 2nd grade- 20 years!), Adrienne and her son M coming to visit. We had such a blast hanging out with them and spending time together. My children adore them. We had a fabulous time. We watched Twilight :), talked a lot, toured my town, went shopping and to our favorite park today and had lunch (Mark met us there) and played on the toys and had a ton of fun. I am excited for Spring and Summer to be here. I wish for more sunny days like this.
