1st day {Crater Lake}: Vacation alone {5th Anniversary} 08.2007
On our 5th wedding anniversary, we made a nice dinner (corn on the cob, green beans, roasted chicken, French bread, strawberry cheesecake and sparkling apple cider) and ate it with the kids. Mark also bought me red tulips that were trimmed with yellow. They are soooo beautiful!! We made each other really nice cards and enjoyed spending time together. We watched "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" with the kiddos. It was a fun night.

Today, Mark and I are going away for the weekend, for our 5th anniversary. We took the kids over to Mark’s parents. We had a hard time leaving the kids, but we knew that they were in good hands, so we gave them some hugs and kisses and then left them. This is good for our relationship, to spend time alone. To remember what it is like to be a couple, and not just Mommy and Daddy all the time. So after we dropped the kids off, we went home and packed up the rest of our stuff and left to drive to the Crater Lake area. South Central Oregon. It took us about 5.5 hours to drive to Bend Oregon, which is a 1.5 hours away from Crater Lake. We had fun talking on the way down and I slept a little too (good thing I wasn't driving!). We stopped at an Italian Restaurant called Johnny Carino’s that I haven’t been to since I lived in Rexburg (they have one in Idaho Falls). So that was really fun. We got to snuggle and have fun being in love. We enjoyed the lovely atmosphere and the tasty food. We called and talked to the kids, they seemed to be doing just fine. Then we left and stayed at a motel. We were tired.

Thanks for your comments on our blog, I think the photo shop thing on our back drop was from the new template we were using so I guess I'll stick to good ol' blogspot ones!
Those tulips are so gorgeous! I absolutely love multi-colored flowers!! :) So pretty!
